Pain Training and Education provide postgraduate education that integrates clinical expertise with evidence based medicine. Each module offers a range of theory and practical skills development, focused upon improving outcomes of treatment for service users with pain. Initially designed with physiotherapists in mind, these courses have also been appreciated by Nurses, Osteopaths, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists.
PTE courses were developed by Heather Muncey and Pete Gladwell, and continue to be developed by Pete Gladwell and Emma Bartlett. Heather, Pete and Emma share an expertise in the use of the biopsychosocial model in the management of acute, recurrent and chronic pain and application of the psychological approaches to enhance physical therapy.
PTE Courses have now joined with Andrew Green to deliver the Pain and Sleep course. Andrew is a Specialist Occupational Therapist with expertise in managing sleep disorders, and is a co-editor of “Sleep: multi-professional perspectives”, published in 2012 by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. Andrew’s second book, co-edited with Cary Brown, “An occupational therapist’s guide to sleep and problems” was published in 2015.
